The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge, but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things." (Smart, J. 2013) Although current knowledge is necessary for children to gain achievement in society and to support their development, what matters is how they apply that knowledge to extend their own perspective. My goal as a future teacher is to create those possibilities by finding creative ways when giving instruction while following proper procedure. When creating lesson plans, I look for activities that children can engage and relate to.
