About Abimbola

My name is Abimbola Fapohunda. I am a skilled Linguist with over five years experience teaching English. I consider teaching a great career option, because I am passionate about sharing knowledge and interacting with young people. I believe every student can be taught to have a good grasp of any subject matter, if the tutor is willing to employ a personalized approach and go the extra mile.

About the lesson

I would employ a conversational approach. I will start every lesson by asking questions about the previous lesson. Afterwards, I will introduce the lesson for the day and explain to my student why it is important he or she has a good grasp of the topic at hand. Then, I would go into the details of the lesson for the day. In between this, my student is permitted to ask questions and seek clarification. It is important that they follow every step of the way. That way, my student is able to visualize what he or she is being taught. This is when learning truly takes place. In addition, I will ask my student to summarize the lesson at the end of each session and provide clarifications where necessary. For me, I take my student's learning challenge as a personal project and I am willing to go the extra mile to change the status quo.
