About Garrett
I am a dedicated Saxophone tutor with 12+ years of teaching experience and have guided around 150 students through their musical development. I teach students of all levels and enjoy helping them reach their personal goals.
My teaching style combines structure, adaptability, and encouragement. I tailor lessons to each learner’s pace and needs while maintaining clear progress goals. I strive to make lessons engaging and rewarding.
Lessons focus on essential saxophone techniques such as breath control, embouchure strength, tone quality, finger technique, and rhythm accuracy. As students improve, I introduce musical expression, phrasing, improvisation, and performance skills.
In addition to saxophone performance training, I teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training. My goal is to help students grow into confident and expressive saxophone players.

In my saxophone classes, I follow a progressive learning system that adapts to each student’s pace. Beginners focus on sound production and rhythm accuracy, while advanced students work on articulation speed, tone variation, and improvisation skills. I motivate learners by helping them build confidence through consistent improvement.
Communication is clear and supportive, ensuring students understand both technical and musical aspects. Integrity is maintained by providing structured practice routines and regular performance assessments.
Creativity is developed by encouraging students to explore jazz, blues, and contemporary styles. I also teach music theory and sight reading to enhance their musical knowledge.
