About Y Yanira

I am a 48-year-old professional from Colombia with over 25 years of experience in social work and community development. I have taught children, teenagers, adults, and community leaders, bringing patience, structure, and real-world understanding to every learning experience. I also know firsthand the challenges of learning a second language, which allows me to support and guide my students with empathy and encouragement. My goal is to help learners feel comfortable, motivated, and confident as they grow.

About the lesson

Practical Spanish for Real-Life Communication and Cultural Understanding

In my Spanish lessons, students learn more than vocabulary and grammar—they learn how to use Spanish confidently in real-life situations. Drawing on my experience as an educator, program director, and nonprofit leader, I design lessons that are interactive, meaningful, and culturally rich.

A typical lesson focuses on:

Conversational Spanish for daily life, work, or travel

Clear explanations of grammar using simple, learner-friendly methods

Listening and speaking practice through guided dialogue and role-play

Cultural context from Colombia and other Spanish-speaking communities

Personalized learning, adapted to each student’s goals and level

My teaching approach emphasizes confidence-building, critical thinking, and practical communication. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate learner, my lessons help you speak Spanish naturally, understand cultural nuances, and apply the language immediately.
