About Ethan
Hi, I’m an English Literature graduate from the University of Nottingham, where I achieved First Class Honours. I’ve always had a love for language, storytelling, and communication, which naturally led me to tutoring. I’ve worked with learners of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers and I especially enjoy helping students gain confidence in everyday conversation. My lessons are friendly, informal, and focused on helping you speak clearly and comfortably in real-world situations. Outside of teaching, I love reading contemporary fiction, exploring new languages, and travelling, all of which inspire my approach to teaching English.

Each lesson is structured to help you speak more confidently while having fun. We’ll begin with a quick warm-up chat to get you thinking in English — nothing too serious, just something light to ease you in (e.g., “How was your day?” or “What’s something interesting you’ve done recently?”). Then we’ll move into a guided conversation, based on a theme we’ve chosen together in advance (like travel, food, work, or current events). I’ll gently correct mistakes as you speak, and I’ll offer new vocabulary, useful expressions, and pronunciation tips along the way — always in a supportive way, never overwhelming. Depending on your goals, we might include: Role-play scenarios (e.g., job interviews, ordering food, socialising) Picture or video prompts for discussion Mini vocabulary games or challenges Short reading or listening clips for fluency building I always tailor lessons to you — whether you want to focus on small talk, business English, everyday conversations, or just speaking more naturally. By the end of each lesson, you’ll leave with practical phrases, personalised feedback, and a sense of real progress. Most importantly, my lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and full of good conversation — so you actually enjoy learning and keep improving without stress.
