About Natasha

About Me – Your Russian Language Tutor With over three decades of experience as a professional educator, linguist, and multimedia language specialist, I bring a depth of expertise and dedication that ensures high-quality, personalized instruction. I hold a Ph.D. in Russian Culture from Moscow State University and was a long-standing professor and GLOSS Project Chair at the Defense Language Institute, where I led the development of cutting-edge online Russian language materials used by universities and federal agencies across the U.S. As a tutor, I offer more than just language lessons—I deliver a culturally immersive and communicatively driven learning experience. My lessons integrate authentic, contemporary Russian media and are tailored to each student's goals—whether for travel, work, heritage, or advanced academic study. I emphasize real-life communication, structured skill development, and deep cultural literacy. My background in audiovisual translation, diagnostic language assessment, curriculum development, and educator training allows me to adapt instruction for learners at all levels. You’ll benefit from my expertise in error correction, proficiency testing, and digital learning technologies. I’ve trained dozens of language professionals and conducted assessments for DTRA, ACTFL, and FAO candidates. In every session, I aim to create a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment, offering flexible online scheduling, moderate pricing, and a curriculum informed by national standards and best practices. Whether you seek focused speaking practice or deeper cultural insights into Russian society, I’ll guide you with professionalism, clarity, and passion.
