About Aaron
I have a unique educational background, receiving a BFA in Fine Arts in 2006 and later a Master's Degree in Special Education in 2015. I have taught a wide array of subjects, from visual arts to intensive phonics and math interventions to students in grades 1-7. Over the last 4 years, I've worked as a licensed intervention specialist for Columbus City Schools. This is given me specialized experience in teaching students with unique learning styles and challenges. Being able to observe progress in students with disabilities has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

I believe that an effective teacher must have the ability to inspire students to become active learners. My goal is to deliver information in a way that is catered to the individual student's interests and learning style. Curiosity is at the epicenter of active learning and is a fundamental quality of an inquisitive mind. I stress the importance of asking questions during sessions as a means for students to develop their own ideas about the subject matter, and guide the lesson. By giving the student ownership of his or her education, optimal progress can be achieved.
