About Maranda

I am a licensed and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with a strong background working with K–12 students in both general and special education. While much of my expertise is in school-based therapy, I also tailor lessons for learners of any age within my scope of practice. For older students and adults, I provide support with test preparation, resume writing, professional communication, and interview skills in addition to speech and language development. My approach is professional, structured, and evidence-based, yet flexible enough to meet each learner where they are. I adapt sessions to the individual’s academic level, developmental profile, and personal goals, ensuring that therapy is both effective and meaningful. Students and families can feel confident knowing they are working with someone who is not only highly trained, but also deeply invested in their progress and success.

About the lesson

Learning should be fun!

I use a student-centered, evidence-based approach that blends direct instruction with interactive, functional activities. I focus on breaking complex speech and language concepts into manageable steps, while incorporating visuals, real-life examples, and digital tools to engage learners. I also provide consistent feedback, positive reinforcement, and scaffolded support, so students feel both challenged and encouraged.

Typical lesson plan:
Rapport building conversation (5 min)
Target skill instruction (10 min)
Guided practice/application (15–20 min)
Reflection & carry-over strategies (5 min)

What sets me apart is my ability to combine professional expertise with creativity and warmth. I make sessions engaging through games, humor, and building strong rapport, while also ensuring that instruction is structured and goal-oriented.

Although most of my experience is with K–12 students in both general and special education, I can tailor lessons for learners of any age within my scope of practice. For older students and adults, this may include support with test preparation, resume writing, professional communication, and interview practice in addition to speech and language development. I adapt each session to the individual’s academic level, developmental profile, and personal goals to ensure therapy is both effective and meaningful.
