About Marize
I am an enthusiastic and passionate person, with a love for the written and spoken word. After completing my 3 year Bachelor's Degree in Drama, majoring in Acting, I studied Psychology. This proved to be a tremendous advantage in my pursuit of understanding the human condition. I spent 5 years in South Korea, teaching English to speakers of other languages. It is here that I acquired new and innovative teaching strategies that set me apart once I returned to South Africa. Since my return I have been a full-time educator in Creative Arts and specifically Dramatic Arts. I enjoy interactive learning through meaningful conversation! I am excited to share my expertise with you!

During my lessons we will work on the building blocks and foundations of theatre practices and explore the way theatre reflects society. We will explore the worlds of well-known practitioners and then learn how to apply this theoretical knowledge in practice. Theatre is storytelling and by studying the stories of our most prolific playwrights, we understand the depth and importance of our craft even better. I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans and focus on Dramatic Arts for Grades 10-12.
