About Alexander
Hi! I’m a third-year university student and a Laurier Scholar with a strong passion for English and Literature. Throughout high school, I consistently achieved a 94 average, earned honor roll recognition every year, and developed a deep (and still ongoing) love for reading, especially the classics.
I bring the same dedication and enthusiasm to tutoring, helping high school students improve their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. My goal is to make lessons clear, and engaging, while tailoring lessons to each student’s needs and learning styles, so they can feel confident and succeed in English and Literature.

I focus on making English and Literature clear, and easy to understand. I adapt all of my lessons to each student’s needs so that learning feels manageable and meaningful.
When I teach students, I break down complex concepts into simple, step-by-step explanations. My lessons are interactive, with discussions, exercises, and examples from texts the student is looking at. I help students develop critical thinking, analyzing and interpreting literature effectively. I give practical tips for reading, writing, and organizing ideas clearly.
A typical lesson plan of mine looks like this:
1. Review previous lesson and key concepts
2. Introduce new topic (reading, literature analysis, or writing technique)
3. Guided practice with exercises or discussion
4. Independent practice with feedback
5. Recap and set goals for the next lesson
I focus on helping students understand over just memorizing test material, helping students truly grasp what they are learning. I am patient, approachable, and adapt my teaching style to each student’s pace and goals.
My lessons are for high school students in grades 9–12,
students who want to improve reading comprehension, essay writing, or critical analysis, anyone looking for structured, supportive guidance to succeed in English and Literature.
