About the lesson
I look to build a student’s intuitive knowledge in a certain subject. It’s important to me that students know how to explain technical concepts and the problem solving process in everyday language because that demonstrates true understanding. I typically walk a student through a problem using a series of questions to help them understand what decisions to make when working on a difficult problem.

I am a recent grad from Reed College with a bachelor’s degree in Physics. At Reed I tutored and graded for physics and math classes at both the college and high school level. I also completed a teaching fellowship in the summer of 2017 working in geometry classrooms with middle school students.

Perfect! Ely has been an excellent tutor! I love his teaching method and he is willing to go over the material until I fully understand it.
