About Akanksha

My name is Akanksha, and I am a postgraduate student at King's College London in the English department. A graduate in English literature, language and culture have always kindled my curiosity and the deeper I went, the satisfaction increased. There are so many layers to literally any work of art, it's mind boggling. I used to be a teacher of English back in India, and therefore besides learning, imparting knowledge has also been a part of my passion. I love to culminate in students several ideas, which they can then use to read a piece of work through more than one lens. I am also an artist, therefore art and literature come together in my world, and I like to teach my students to have a cross-discipline approach to the subject as well. I can promise a wonderful time besides good grades if you choose me as your teacher.

About the lesson

English literature is subjective, and I believe in helping students create an opinion while studying a piece of literature, or while admiring a piece of visual art. Therefore, communication is key and my mode of teaching is interactive, where the student can place forward their ideas without any fear of being judged. The text is never confined to books, and will spill into cinema as well as art, so Netflix is encouraged here. If you are looking forward to learn literature through debates, discussions, exchange of ideas and a lot of fun, hop on!
