About Laila
Hello! My name is Laila, and I am a dedicated Bachelor of Education student at CPUT with a genuine passion for teaching and helping learners achieve their academic goals. My studies and practical teaching experience have equipped me with valuable skills in lesson planning, learner support, assessment, and effective teaching strategies.
I am patient, approachable, organised, and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence. I have strong skills in English, Afrikaans, spelling, reading, writing, grammar, and primary-school Mathematics.
I believe every learner has the ability to succeed with the right guidance and support. I tailor my lessons to each student's needs, learning pace, and level, while keeping lessons engaging and focused. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to develop their confidence and enjoyment of learning.

My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and personalised to suit each learner’s individual needs and learning style. As a B.Ed. student at CPUT, I use the teaching strategies and knowledge I have developed through my studies and practical experience to make lessons clear, engaging, and meaningful.
I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans and can teach in either language. I offer support in English, Afrikaans, spelling, reading, writing, grammar, and primary-school Mathematics.
Students can expect structured lessons that begin by identifying areas they find challenging, followed by clear explanations, examples, guided practice, and activities. I also provide opportunities for questions and feedback to ensure the learner understands the work.
My lessons are mainly aimed at primary-school learners and students who need additional academic support. I welcome learners of different abilities and adapt my teaching pace and methods to help each student feel confident and make progress.
