About Tesla
Hi, I'm Tesla! I am a Junior in high school, and I have taken advanced/AP ELA every year since 6th grade. I believe that Language Arts is one of the coolest subjects, and it's even cooler if you understand it! (Psst: that's why I'm here)
I love to read novels and write poetry in my free time, and 3 of my personal poems have been published in different books throughout my life. I am patient and ready to take on uncertain or anxious students, because I believe that everyone deserves to feel prepared when they step into their classrooms.

Regarding lessons, I like to be as hands-on as possible with my students. For example, after learning a new figurative device, I have the student write a sentence including it. As a tutor, I always do my best to guide a student's thought process instead of thinking for them. My goal is for them to leave the tutoring session feeling proud of the work and confident in what comes next. I teach English to elementary and middle schoolers, though I may be able to help with freshman and sophomore classes.
