About Alex
I am currently taking a gap year after my matric studies and one year at the University of Cape Town. I took 9 subjects in school, including AP Maths, AP English, and Music. I am an all rounder who is well versed in an array of subjects and has experience tutoring school kids, especially from Grade 10 to matric.

I base my teaching of the student's interests. It is important that the student doesn't feel tutoring or studying is a chore. I make sure to include enough interesting content to counter balance what they don't enjoy in order for them to gain a passion for the whole syllabus.
I find repetition for problem areas is a key, so I make sure to repeat the knowledge over and over again through practice, discussions, note taking and flash cards. I teach the students my note taking methods so their classes will also be more beneficial.
I also believe it is important to get the student's confidence up, so we go through hard questions until we get them right so when the student writes a test or exam, she feels well prepared and self-assured.
