About Daniel
I am an Ivy League educated writer, who loves meeting and working with students. My years studying history and English from some of the country's best professors has provided me with the sophisticated knowledge necessary to teach these subject areas. But most importantly, I know students learn best when they enjoy what they're studying. As a tutor, I make it my goal to understand my students on a human level and tailor the sessions to their personality.

About the lesson

1. When I first meet a student, I like to get to know them as a person. After we feel comfortable with each other, I will get to know them as a student. Specifically, I will ask about their studying and learning habits.
2. Next, we will review where they are in their course, or, if we are looking to improve their reading and writing skills, we will discuss the weaknesses they want to address. Based on their answers, we will set goals for what we want to accomplish together.
3. I will then have the student practice reading and writing exercises specifically suited for the issues they are having, i.e. to improve reading comprehension, I will have a student read a passage aloud to me and then answer interpretive questions about the passage.
4. I will then ask if the student has any questions for me, and we will work through those questions together.
5. Lastly, I finish with a fun learning exercise to end the day on a high note. Then I send the student home with a task to work on until I see them the next week!
