I'm a big believer in differentiated learning and understanding the learning style that my students have (visual, auditory, or kinesthetic). Targeting the most successful learning style of every student is a great way to make the material accessible. I do not complete the work for the student; I am confident that every student is fully capable of completing his or her own work. However, I do assist students in finding and learning the necessary steps to reach an appropriate level of content mastery. My goal is for students to feel proud of their academic growth and to understand the why and how of what it means to understand the material.
I'm a student teacher currently finalizing my VA state licensure application in English (6th-12th grades). I have tutored elementary, middle school, high school, and collegiate students in English, ELA, writing, research, literacy, and other related areas to help them pass their courses and feel confident in their learning abilities. Currently, I work with college student athletes to increase their content mastery of English and writing, as well as other general education courses. In the past, I've served as a volunteer tutor for English, Chemistry, History, and Music for elementary, middle, and high school students. Overall, I have five years of tutoring experience, and I am confident that I can help you access the knowledge and learning you're capable of!

Maddy and I have known each other since we both started college freshman year. Being the same major, and on the same track to graduate, we have spent a lot of time in the same classes and working together on the same projects. Maddy has been an incredible person to work with and she has always been willing to help me study for any big exams, she helps me edit my papers, and she gives great feedback! I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. Not only is she a joy to work with, but she is extremely talented and devoted to whomever she may be working with!
Madelaine has been my best friend since my Freshman year of college, and I can assure anyone that I would not have survived my English classes without her! I always trusted her to proof-read my papers and she was wonderful helping me understand wording and formatting I was struggling with. Anyone who wants the best tutor around, choose Madelaine! She will give everything she has to help you be your best; she has the biggest heart and is a friend to everyone!
If you are looking for someone to proofread your resume, come up with the right words for your essay or receive clear and helpful tutoring in English and literature, Madelaine is the one you want.
Her attention to detail is unsurpassed, and she truly wants you to look the best you possibly can through your work. Not only is she great at anything and everything that has to do with English and lit, she has a kind heart that undoubtedly cares about what she does.
