Methodology
My techniques of instruction are first to get to know each student and assess their individual abilities and interests and utilize research based as well as many other resources to incorporate them into my lesson plans in order to build on and improve in the areas in which students may find difficult.
Background
I was a reading and language arts teacher for 5 years and have been tutoring for 6 years. My experience ranges from teaching classes with 25 students to tutoring and mentoring on a one to one basis. My degrees are in English Literature and Composition and my specialties are in reading, English, language arts, essay writing, literacy, and doing everything possible in order to help each individual student achieve their highest level of potential, both inside and outside of the classroom setting. Each of the students I have tutored privately for GED and SAT preparation have been successful on the first try and the students in my classroom while I was a full time teacher had significant learning gains. I am extremely passionate about helping children to become proficient in any subject they may have challenges in.
