About Robert
I have 25 years of teaching experience in a variety of countries and contexts. I have a Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA) and an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the University of Birmingham.
My first degree was in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick. Prior to becoming a teacher I was employed in the actuarial profession, as an assistant manager at the head office of Liverpool Victoria, a large UK insurance company. Other experience in leadership includes leading a team of young adults on voluntary building projects in South America as well as performing management roles for the British Council.
I am committed to the learning process. I speak Spanish at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), have an International Diploma in Language Teaching Management (IDLTM) from the University of Queensland, and present at international conferences.
I also have a post graduate certificate in Language Testing from Lancaster University. I am a item writer and editor. I have experience working in this area with the Northern Consortium of universities in the UK (NCUK) and the British Council. I am an examiner for Cambridge Assessment and have worked in this role for IELTS.
