About Ashley
I currently work at a nonprofit and part of my job entails working on all of the computer and database organizing that we need. My current colleagues have lots of trouble working a computer, so I am used to helping them solve their problems in person, over the phone, and via zoom. I have created step by step books as well for tasks that are reoccurring. Our program also teaches lessons using elearning and we use Zoom and give presentations!
I finished my Ph.D. in Environment and Natural Resources (concentration in Wildlife Science) and also graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Equine Science and B.S. in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology with a minor in Business Administration. I have taught and mentored college students, tutored high school students, tutored peers throughout high school and college, and also taught individuals with disabilities.

I like a relaxed approach to learning new computer skills that encourages the person to become confident in their skills. I encourage people to use their brains to problem solve on their own with my guidance after I have taught them the computer skill so they can become more self-proficient and gain confidence in their ability to work on the computer independently in the future.
My goal is to rephrase problems or teach things in a way that will help the student learn in a way that makes sense to them (visuals, using examples of what is already familiar to the student, written, spoken, etc). One teaching approach does not fit every student. Hearing or looking at the problem/topic in different ways and finding out how the student learns best is key to helping people successfully learn topics. I also like to share organization strategies to help people feel less stressed about upcoming tests or assignments.
