About Kristen
I believe learning should be tailored to the student's needs, engaging and supportive to help the student get the most out of it. I have a passion for helping students to build confidence and my background in the educational setting has allowed me to build my skills to enable students to do this. I design my lessons around the student, making them interactive, allowing movement or sensory breaks whenever required and tailored to suit the learning requirements of the individual student. I specialize in primary English, math, geography, and creative learning for homeschoolers. I work with the student and their family to build learning goals and provide regular updates on how the student is progressing towards their goals.

I have had many years of experience as a home tutor and also as a teacher's aide. I am also studying teaching at university. I like to start each lesson with a small ice breaker or warm-up activity, followed by working towards our learning goal, before ending with a reflection activity that is often in the form of a game. I like to make lessons as hands-on as possible, including by doing some sensory-based activities. My lessons are mostly aimed at primary school children and would be great for homeschoolers, due to my daytime availability.
