About Molly

Hi! I’m an experienced language instructor with a background in linguistics, second language acquisition, and language education. I began teaching English to adult learners in Russia in 2012 and have since built a career centered on language teaching, curriculum development, and educational technology. I hold a TEFL certification as well as a certificate in Teaching Foreign Languages, and I have taught learners at a variety of proficiency levels.

Languages have also been an important part of my own life. I know firsthand what it is like to learn another language and use it while living abroad, and that experience has shaped me into a patient, supportive, and flexible instructor. I enjoy getting to know my students as individuals and creating a comfortable environment where they can experiment with English, ask questions, and build confidence without being afraid of making mistakes.

About the lesson

My English lessons are personalized to your goals, interests, and current level. I believe that language is learned best by using it, so my lessons emphasize meaningful communication and plenty of opportunities to practice English in realistic situations. At the same time, I provide clear explanations and targeted feedback on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and appropriate language use whenever you need them.

A typical lesson combines conversation and practical activities with focused work on the skills you want to improve. Depending on your goals, we might practice everyday conversations, discuss an article or video, work on writing, explore a grammar point, build vocabulary, or role-play a situation you are likely to encounter in real life. I also enjoy incorporating students’ interests into lessons to make learning more engaging and relevant.

What sets me apart is my background in linguistics and second language acquisition, as well as my experience teaching English to adult learners at different proficiency levels. I use research-informed teaching practices while adapting my approach to the individual learner rather than following a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Having also lived abroad and learned other languages myself, I understand both the challenges and rewards of communicating in a new language and culture.

My lessons are designed primarily for adult English learners, from intermediate to advanced levels. I am especially happy to work with students who want to improve their conversational English, academic English, or overall confidence communicating in English for work, study, travel, or everyday life.
