About Lindsey

Hi, I’m Lindsey, and I’m a TEFL-certified English tutor with a Bachelor of General Studies and extensive international experience working as an Au Pair in the United States. My teaching approach is student-focused and practical, meaning I tailor each lesson to real-life communication so students can confidently use English in everyday situations. I specialize in creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning naturally through conversation, repetition, and guided correction.
My teaching method combines structured learning with interactive practice. A typical lesson plan begins with a short warm-up conversation to build confidence, followed by a focused language topic such as vocabulary, grammar, or pronunciation. I then introduce guided practice activities, such as role-playing or scenario-based exercises, and finish with a short review and feedback session to reinforce what was learned. I also adapt my lessons depending on the student’s goals, whether that is improving conversational fluency, preparing for travel, or strengthening academic English.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my diverse background in education, childcare, customer service, and aviation training, which allows me to bring real-world context into my lessons. I understand how to communicate across cultures and adapt my teaching style to different ages and learning levels.
