About Joni

I’m an TESOL English teacher from Australia. I lived in Italy for several years and that’s where I developed my love for language learning. It’s also where I learnt the tools of the teaching trade. I have traveled extensively and earned several degrees.

I also have a multitude of hobbies. Therefore, I can lead conversation topics over a wide array of areas.

I’ve taught many students studying or working in medicine and IT. I love teaching Italians and I also have had many Russian students over the years.

About the lesson

I love learning languages and I know you will too. The more you enjoy your lessons, the better you will learn!

I create personalised lessons for each individual student, taking your personal interests, work, and travel goals into account. I blend these themed lesson plans with target language areas, like grammar structure, vocabulary, fluency and so on.

My methods are constructionist and transformative as I believe in student autonomy. With my student led approach you will not only learn English, but learn how to learn a language.

This first lesson offered with Joni will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

TESOL includes English as both a foreign or a second language.

For online classes, I teach only adults.

My rate is 27/hour online, 30/hour in person, with a $15 travel fee.

I am not available weekends.

Lately I have received a lot of messages about tutoring English and science. I can do this as long as the student is willing to learn. There is a fee for travel.

To further understand my methods and rates, book a trial lesson with me. We can discuss rates and availability after the lesson.

I prefer pay as you go but I can make exceptions for long term students paying cash.
