Price : $20.00 - Place : Durham (27705)I'm a former opera singer and HS teacher. I have lived in seven states and visited 39 more and discovered that Americans have funny accents. A person from New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas can sit in a room and may not fully understand each other.
We will have a discussion about accents, listen to examples of different American accents, and then experiment with them. Learning by listening and laughing is my goal for this class.
I will ask the class if they are interested in a specific area of the US and I will imitate the accent from that area. This would be good if you plan to visit the area or interview with a person from that area.

Course setup
I earned my Bachelor degrees in Music Performance (Opera) and English Literature in 1991. I received my teaching license in 1993.
I have taught approximately 200 High School students and 5,000 adult learners.
I have helped people pass High School exams, the GED, the ASVAB, improve their SAT scores, and ESL to co-workers who are in the medical and pharmaceutical research markets. Currently, I am also a mentor at IBM and I focus on biotechnology including AI and Blockchain.
