About Ella

I am a third year English literature student at Durham University, so (unsurprisingly!) I love all things literature, and like to think I am very well read. Alongside my studies, I love to volunteer at literature festivals and am running my college's book club. I loved A-level English literature, during which I studied Hamlet, The Handmaid's Tale, Nineteen Eighty-Four, A Doll's House, and Paradise Lost, but I also know that it is really tricky to get the exam technique perfect and ensure extensive textual knowledge. I would love to help students both understand the texts they are studying in terms of their literary and societal impact, and to gain the necessary skills to thrive in exams.

About the lesson

I am offering 1 hour online tutoring sessions in English literature. I have previous experience tutoring and as a teaching assistant, and achieved top grades in GCSE and A-level English literature. My lessons will focus on textual knowledge, creating a bank of resources together including key themes, quotes, critics and context, which can be used by students during revision. Once a solid knowledge base has been established, I will focus on exam technique, ensuring all of the assessment objectives are covered in exam answers.
