For me, private tutoring isn’t about covering a syllabus faster. It’s about figuring out why a student feels stuck and removing that one thing so the rest starts moving on its own.
I Start with the person, not the subject
In the first session I spend less time testing knowledge and more time understanding the student: what they’re trying to achieve, where they’ve gotten frustrated before, and how they actually learn best. Some people need visuals, some need to talk it out, some need to break things into tiny steps. If I miss that, the rest of the tutoring misses too.
The goal isn’t to have you need me forever. Every session ends with you knowing exactly what to practice and how to check if you’re doing it right. Over time, I’m there less to give answers and more to challenge your thinking and catch blind spots.
I’ll tell you straight if something isn’t working and why. But tutoring only works if there’s trust, so I keep the tone supportive and low-pressure. You should leave sessions feeling challenged, but also like progress is actually possible.
My approach is diagnostic first, practical always, and focused on making you self-sufficient. If you know what you want to improve, I’ll help you get there with less wasted time and less frustration.
