As a teacher I strive to motivate student success inside my classroom and in life. My teaching career began in 2000 when I graduated with Montessori MATCE certified course in early education. My education began when I graduated from Cypress College with an AA in Liberal Studies and became certified in Early Childhood Education (ECE). I also hold a Bachelor Degree in Communications with a concentration in journalism from California State University, Fullerton. My professional experience outside of teaching includes multi-media journalism, actively writing, editing and anchoring for a locally televised and broadcast Orange County news station. I received my Elementary Teaching credential from The University of South Florida, where I studied professional development and taught 6th grade at a Title 1 school. I have taught in various classroom settings including college level English at Pitzer Junior College. My history includes serving on various school improvement teams and as a team leader for journalism and debate classes. I currently hold a TEFL certification along with a certification in Professional Development in Project Based Learning Strategies. I am certified in graduate English Language concentration training from MLA (Move Language Ahead). My experience includes teaching in all populations including ED, SPED, and GATE. In addition, I served as a co-educator in Resource and Advanced Placement courses and am currently pursuing my 5 year certification with FLDOE.
