The following is a short description of my professional biography at my college planning center.

Professor Tagle is the Director of College Planning at Surf City College Planning, where he is responsible for assisting high school students along the college planning process by setting individualized and particular academic and extracurricular goals, and also the procedures for implementing them. He is formerly fully certificated as a Certified College Funding Specialist and Education Loan Analyst by the Association of Certified College Funding Specialists. By utilizing an intimate knowledge of schools, degree programs, and admission practices, he makes it his goal at his college planning center to increase his students’ chances of enrolling in his or her first choice of college. He has counseled thousands of aspiring college students to date, as to the requirements and procedures of gaining admission to two-year and four-year undergraduate programs at American colleges and universities all across the United States of America. His best success story as a college planner was when, during his first lesson with a student, he advised her, whose first choice was to attend the University of Alabama, to immediately submit additional standardized testing documentation to the University for admissions consideration, when she had previously decided not to do so upon the recommendation of others. The next morning, she received an email from the University of Alabama notifying her that she had been admitted as a first-year Undergraduate Student to the University for the Next Fall term!

I am an Incumbent Board Director with The Anselmo Academy of Music & The Arts (formerly The Piano School of New York City). I am also a former Alumni Director for the UCLA Alumni Association.

My students have been admitted to several colleges and universities, including The California Institute of Technology or CalTech, Stanford University, Yale, Dartmouth University, The University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, Pitzer, Pomona, UC Berkeley, University of Southern California, New York University, and UCLA.

My methodology is one which focuses more or less exclusively on two objects of study: methods and problems. Of these two items, I place an overwhelmingly larger emphasis on problems over methods. With respect to these two objects of study, I essentially train my students in two categories of skill: accuracy and speed. Of these two items, I place a moderately larger emphasis on speed over accuracy. The methodology emphasizes a careful study of problems developed by reputable publishers of test prep materials, under timed and untimed conditions. Problems answered incorrectly are then discussed and analyzed until the student is able to make sense of the associated topic or concept tested in those particular problems.

My methodology with the standardized examination is that essentially technique and strategy are discovered through an analysis of problems rather than through something somehow independent of problems, like a study of concepts or ideas pertaining to the question types of the said standardized examination. As a consequence, my methodology is one where standardized examination skill is developed by an examination of passages and questions, rather than by a study of some defined list of tactics as may be developed and taught by some other instructors and institutions. Having said that, I nonetheless do have a defined list of methods or techniques of sorts which I teach my students. Again, my methodology is one which focuses upon a rigorous and systematic study of problems, or problem sets, rather than methods, or concepts, and so my methodology is primarily emphasizing of reading passages and completing problem sets with discussions of associated topics and concepts thereafter.

My methodology is the way that it is and the lessons are structured in the way that they are because my focus is on (a) the study of standardized examination concepts as they are presented in particular standardized examination problems, and not on the study of standardized examination concepts in and of themselves, and (b) the study of standardized examination question types as they are presented in particular standardized examination problems - problems constitutive of problem sets developed by reputable standardized examination publishers. Some people make the supposition that if you are able to master a finite set of standardized examination techniques, that you would therefore be able to do well on the standardized examination. This is a faulty presumption which I liken to thinking that you would do well in Algebra 1 if you mastered your times tables, which is clearly false. What is needed to do well in Algebra 1 goes above and beyond the mere study of the times tables, though that would also certainly be necessary. It is insufficient merely to study techniques; what is required is a rigorous study of high-quality problem sets. What I am doing when I direct you to the explanations provided by the test-writer or test-writers is directing you to an interpretation of how the selected correct answer could be the right one, and indeed is the best one – according to the test writer. After this, I may present you with a secondary explanation, as may be needed, especially as the reading test is a subjective test most fundamentally, as the act of reading is itself subjective. This methodology does not focus on the use of a developed set of techniques that is then applied to problem sets. Rather, this methodology focuses on the development of a deeper insight into the concepts presented by particular problems and the structure of particular questions types. Again, the standardized examination methodology focuses on the study of question types, rather than the study of concepts or techniques which are then subsequently applied to specific standardized examination problems in order to solve them, primarily.
