I try as much as possible to gear my teaching to "where the student is at" and build from there.
I've got many years of both in-class and private instruction from school age to post-graduate students; and more than once a students who were failing at one point ended up with the highest mark in the class.
I'd appreciate 24-48 hours notification of a cancellation.
