About Aldrei

I have had a stutter since I was a child. Public speaking was my worst enemy for a long time. A large part of that was I was living in my own head.

Oddly enough I became an actor. Which a long time ago, seemed like a ridiculous thing to pursue for someone with a speech impediment. But I found my voice, I got out of my own head because it helped me focus on something other than myself. The story.

Seeing students and fellow actors find work, that’s the joy. I don’t chase the ‘aha!’ moment. I’d rather we leave every session with more empathy. I’m human first. And in this work, that means telling the truth instead of hoping to look good doing it.

Get out of your own head. Forget the angles. Tell the story.

About the lesson

Every scene is a poker game, the possibilities are nearly endless, and it all comes down to the person across from you.

My approach draws from Meisner, shaped by years in the craft, and grounded in one simple idea: explore everything, so you’re ready without anticipation.

We repeat, we play, we turn the scene inside out until the performance stops being something you do and becomes something that simply happens.
