About Maria
My name is Maria and I am a linguist and a trained language teacher. I have been teaching English in Greece for a few years now, and this year I started teaching Greek to a (primarily) English speaking classroom. I believe that languages are the doorway to exploring new cultures and ideas, which in turn, makes us fuller humans.

I am very open to tailor the lesson to fit each student's needs and wants. I tend to center authentic communication in my lessons because I believe it is the best way to get acquainted and comfortable with a language, while also having the potential to be very fun!
A typical lesson could be around 45 minutes to an hour, although that is not set in stone. It would encompass all skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking), with emphasis to what the student wants more. It would be through the medium of English, while incorporating Greek.
I have experience in teaching children, adolescents, and adults, both in a class environment and in one-to-one sessions. I have taught English and Modern Greek to learners of different levels, and I will determine your level as well and adjust my lesson accordingly.
