About Vernell

The sound of a perfectly voiced chord remains the highlight of my 13 years of musical practice. I have guided 106 students through the complexities of jazz improvisation, sight playing, and memorization techniques.

My journey includes earning a Bachelor of Music in Violin with piano as my second study at the Manhattan School of Music. Sight transposition and classical repertoire require a disciplined mind that I help students cultivate daily. Balancing pop styles with grade exam prep like ABRSM and Trinity keeps my curriculum fresh. Watching a student master dynamics, expression, rhythm, and timing creates a genuine sense of accomplishment for me.

Progressing at the piano is often harder than it looks. Sometimes the simplest passages require the most intense concentration. I emphasize clear technique to help you navigate challenging contemporary pieces. My lessons move quickly to keep your mind engaged during every minute.

Seeing you conquer difficult sight reading is the main goal here. You continue your practice at home.
