About Krishna
I am a graduate with a double degree of Bachelor of Education and Arts. I have gained ample experience in communicating, identifying the needs of, and quickly building rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds. I have learnt from my school placements that successful teaching starts with professional engagement, cultural responsiveness, and adaptivity.

I believe that for students to fulfil their potential, they must be empowered to take charge of their own learning. To achieve this, I design lessons that help to promote a sense of belonging, encourage collaboration, and scaffold self-efficacy.
I deliver ICT-augmented lessons that utilises multisensory engagement, draws on students’ cultural/background knowledge, and promotes collaborative learning. This is because I support the notion that learning occurs optimally in an authentic and social context. My methodology is informed by Yunkaporta’s 8-ways pedagogy, Vygotsky’s constructivism, and Freire’s problem-posing education. A few common strategies that I use include: projecting/writing up the day’s lesson objective on the board, ‘think, pair, share’, class discussion/brainstorm, and group projects.
To assess their progress, I implement frequent formative assessment methods such as random questioning and cloze tests. By interleaving older learning points alongside new ones, students are able to retain more knowledge in the long term and apply their learning in real life – beyond summative tests. Although these are the tools that I currently employ to facilitate student learning, I am eager to find yet better ones as I proceed in my teaching career.
