About Zhin Pyoung
My name is Zhin Pyoung Rhee and I am currently working on a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of California Los Angeles. As such, I have developed skills and attained knowledge regarding algorithmic designs, combinatorics, probability theory, and statistics. I also know how to code in python and, on a basic level, C++.
On a more personal note, here are some miscellaneous facts about me if you are interested. I was born in Boston, but travelled extensively throughout my entire life, having lived in Korea, Israel, and the Netherlands to name a notable few. I speak 2 languages, Korean and English, fluently, and am conversational in Spanish. Besides this, I can also understand Japanese and extremely basic Mandarin. I am a massive fan of strategic games ranging from online computer rogue-likes such as Slay the Spire, to board games such as Terraforming Mars, to old classics such as Chess. In chess, my online rating is currently 1900, although it was 2000 at its peak. Finally, my favorite colors are blue and purple, and my favorite animal is the panda.

Thankfully, math is a very logical subject. It may seem a bit overwhelming at times, but if you truly understand the processes and steps to take, it becomes quite intuitive. My goal is not to drill some problems into students' heads, but help them conceptually understand better since that is the key to becoming better at math.
While this logic is very strongly embedded in mathematics, this also extends to other fields of study such as language as well. Understanding the "why" is what I see as the key to becoming good at something.
Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, things that come easily and things that don't. My goal is to find out what those are and plan my lesson plans accordingly.
