About Aliyah

Hello! My name is Aliyah, and I recently earned my Master's in Public Policy from the University of Connecticut with a background in economics and academic coaching. I am passionate about helping students improve their English, writing, reading comprehension, and overall academic confidence.

As an academic coach and tutor, I understand that every student learns differently. I take a patient and supportive approach by breaking down concepts into simple steps and creating lessons tailored to each student's needs and learning style. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to help them feel more confident in their abilities.

I enjoy working with middle school, high school, and college students on grammar, essay writing, reading comprehension, and study skills. I strive to make lessons engaging, encouraging, and comfortable so students feel confident asking questions and growing at their own pace.

About the lesson

I take a supportive and personalized approach to tutoring, understanding that every student learns differently. My goal is to help students strengthen their English skills while also building confidence in reading, writing, grammar, and communication. I create a comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and improve at their own pace.

My teaching method focuses on breaking concepts down into simple and manageable steps. During lessons, I typically begin by reviewing areas the student may struggle with, then work through examples together before allowing the student to practice independently with guidance and feedback. I also incorporate reading comprehension exercises, vocabulary building, grammar review, and essay writing support depending on the student’s needs.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my strong academic background and experience working directly with students as an academic coach. Through my graduate studies and coaching experience, I have developed strong communication, writing, and mentoring skills that help students stay motivated and organized while improving academically.

My lessons are designed for middle school, high school, and college students who need support in English, academic writing, grammar, essay structure, reading comprehension, and study skills. I can also help students prepare for assignments, presentations, and general academic success.
