About Emma
Hello! My name is Emma, I am an undergraduate student at UW with a real passion for learning. Growing up, reading and writing have been one of my all-time favorite hobbies, and I am excited to help young students find their own love and understanding for the subject of English. During middle and high school I volunteered as a reading tutor for students age 5-13, and I absolutely loved this experience! When my baby sister began kindergarten this year, I revisited my passion for teaching as I taught her to read and write, and I realized that this is truly what I love to do and is how I can make a positive impact, and I am excited to get back into tutoring :)

I specialize in helping young learners develop strong reading and English language skills! Drawing on my experience teaching young children how to read, I teach with a patient, engaging approach that will be tailored to each student's needs. Sessions may include guided reading, phonics practice, vocabulary building, reading comprehension activities, learning games, and writing exercises. My goal is to help students gain confidence, improve their skills, and develop a positive attitude toward learning through fun and engaging lessons!
