About Elizabeth
My name is Elizabeth, but I typically go by Liza ("Lee-zuh"). I'm an international student from California, USA, where I learned French in highschool. As I mentioned earlier,I've been a tutor previously for math spanning from Albebra 1 and 2, to Intro to Calculus. I moved to Canada just last year to study for college, and even though Math is not my major, I still throughly enjoy the subject, and may teach almost all math classes up to Calculus II (if need be!). Other than that, I am an artsy soul, and love to speak to people and learn about what sets all of us apart :)

I've been a math tutor for 4 years before moving to Canada, providing both in person and virtual tutoring for a close friend of mine. Beyond lessons, I like to have a connection with students/pupils :)A typical lesson plan involves some brief intro discussion, talking about what we'll go over today, plans for the future, etc. before spending a few hours (small breaks are allowed! We all get burnt out) targeting any needed topics head on. A learn-then-practice method is what is typically used, wherein I will demonstrate a specific skill/term, and ask the pupil to practice this individually afterwards. Patience is key, on both the tutor and pupils side, and I'm willing to take as much time as needed to ensure everything is well understood!

Liza is one of the most patient people I’ve met. These are good hands to find yourself in.
My teenage son is on the autism spectrum and has ADD, and dyscalculia. Elizabeth was able to keep him focused past 20 minutes and explain things in ways that made sense to him, which I could never do. Thanks to her, he passed all 3 years of math in high school
