About Kali

Hello! I'm Kalinah (Kali) White, a University of Maryland graduate, Certified ESL Specialist, and Science of Reading educator with over seven years of tutoring experience helping students unlock their full academic potential.

I specialize in reading, writing, mathematics, English as a Second Language (ESL), study skills, and academic support for elementary, middle school, high school, and adult learners. Whether your goal is catching up, getting ahead, homeschooling, or building confidence, I create personalized lessons designed around each student's unique learning style.

My instruction is grounded in the Science of Reading and incorporates Orton-Gillingham principles, making my lessons especially effective for students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, learning differences, and English language learners. Every student learns differently, which is why no two of my lessons are exactly alike. Before instruction begins, I assess each student's strengths, areas for growth, learning style, and academic goals so I can create a personalized learning plan that meets their specific needs.

My instruction is grounded in the Science of Reading and incorporates Orton-Gillingham principles when appropriate. Lessons are carefully structured to build strong foundational skills while keeping students engaged through interactive activities, educational games, digital resources, and meaningful discussions.
