I was very fortunate to be a student of Lucy’s at The Bridge Theatre Training Company from 2019 to 2021. Both as face to face active training and zoom training throughout the lockdown period.

From the start I found Lucy to be approachable, open and knowledgeable. Her teaching skills were clear through out and an ability to teach a range of learning styles to meet the needs of her students. We learnt together with Lucy sharing her techniques of breathing development and voice development. Lucy clearly explained and demonstrated the techniques that she was going to introduce and talked the classes through each stage of development and learning. Her technique was calm and enquiring, checking on the students regularly with regards to their wellbeing but importantly that they understood and could put into practice the correct techniques by following her clear instructions. At the end of each session using all types of active learning tools throughout Lucy would go through the process, reiterating the techniques and learning enabling students to be able to use these techniques for life long development of their own voice for their careers ahead. I also had the opportunity for some one-to-one time with specific voice work development for me, with very clear assessment of my own need and how to make changes. Feedback was verbal and a clear report on what we did through that session and practice for me to continue with. Accents work was another area that I found Lucy to be able to teach and demonstrate and give feedback to me and other students on their own technique development.
I found Lucy to be knowledgeable and professional and able to answer peoples queries and questions clearly and concisely. She is open and approachable and prepared for each session with a clear progression plan for students. I wish Lucy all the very best for her continued career to share her knowledge and skills with others to develop their future careers ahead.
