About Nigel
I have had 20 years experience teaching English Literature and World Literature to students from middle school to university. I love to take students on a journey through time from the very first stories ever written down (like the Epic of Gilgamesh) to the very high points in English language and drama (like Hamlet) and on to the modernist world of interior perceptions found in James Joyce and Virginia Woolf. I am a published academic with a genuine love for storytelling and literature.

My primer courses in literature give students an easy-to-grasp model of how story-telling evolved and the central themes that have occupied the minds of human beings for thousands of years.
A typical lesson situates us in history, presents a picture of the life and culture at that time, and dives deep into the assigned text to show how the author has represented their time period and culture and the universal themes that weave through history.
