About Charlie
Hello my name is Charlie and I am a student at the University of Leeds studying Economics and Finance.
Before sixth-form I did not have a clue what economics really meant. Throughout my GCSE's I was sure I wanted to study business at sixth-form and University, I was obsessed with the idea of being "in business". Later on I learnt that my college did not offer business, so I settled for the next best thing, Economics (So I thought). Turns out Economics was nothing how I imagined, the depth of analysis and richness of thought and opinion was exhilarating. As I started to learn the true gears of economics my perception of the world changed. I saw things in a different light. Everything I saw, I asked "how did it get here?", "why is it here?", "does it benefit us".
Economics is not just about money, this is a widely false perception. It is the study of incentives, human behaviour and interaction. It is not just about "profit-maximisation" but how humans think, act and learn - it is social-science at heart. It's dynamics are forever changing, as long as we're around. Economists will not become obsolete, economic thought cannot be automated. It is a safe career no matter how advance technology becomes.

Using relatable language and imagery, I will be able to convey complex and analytical economic concepts in a way that is easier for students to understand.
Considering economics' omnipresence, it is important for students to constantly apply their knowledge to real-world examples. I take an application-based approach in my lessons, where students can use their new-found knowledge and really get to know its use and importance by applying it to current world events.
Lessons are typically 1 hour in length but can be changed by request, subject to availability and charge.
Lessons are aimed at students studying economics at A-Level, GCSE and IB.
Students who do not currently study economics but who want to get ahead before Sixth-Form or University are welcome.
