About Alexandra

My teaching experience began during my school years, when I regularly helped classmates with English classes, writing assignments, and creative projects. I often worked with students one-on-one or in small groups, helping them understand assignments, organize their ideas, improve their writing, and become more confident using English. I especially enjoyed helping students who were struggling with a topic by explaining it in a simpler way and giving them the time and encouragement they needed to understand it.

English and writing have been a strong part of my education throughout my academic career. I graduated high school with Honor Roll recognition and received an award for my contributions to my school newsletter. My writing voice and personal style were also recognized and encouraged throughout my education. These experiences helped me develop a strong understanding of written English, including grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, organization, and creative expression.

My main areas of subject expertise are English, grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and creative writing. Creative writing is especially important to me because I believe learning English should not only be about memorizing rules. Language gives us the ability to share our thoughts, personality, culture, and ideas with others.

My teaching methodology is patient, encouraging, and student-focused. I understand that every student learns differently, especially when learning a second language. I try to adjust my explanations and activities to each student's level, needs, and personal goals. I encourage students to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling embarrassed, because mistakes are a natural and important part of learning. My goal is to help students understand why something is correct rather than simply giving them the answer.

Although my teaching experience has primarily been through peer tutoring and academic support rather than formal classroom teaching, these experiences gave me valuable practice in communication, patience, and explaining ideas clearly. I do not currently hold a formal teaching certification, but I bring a strong academic background in English and writing, genuine enthusiasm for the language, and a desire to make learning comfortable and enjoyable.

I look forward to working with students from different backgrounds and helping them build practical English skills and confidence. Whether a student wants to improve their conversation skills, writing, grammar, or simply feel more comfortable using English in everyday life, I want to create a welcoming environment where they can learn at their own pace.

My tutoring experience is directed towards ANY individual who needs help. Whether you are trying to understand the love of your life, research into a topic, or simply learn something new: it doesn't matter! Together, we will take our time to fully grasp each and every problem you face. Together, we will conquer every obstacle.
