  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

My interest in English started in 8th grade, all thanks to my English teacher. She had a unique way of making every lesson feel inspiring and interactive. Her constant encouragement pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and express myself confidently, both in writing and speaking. She saw potential in me that I hadn't seen in myself.

One day, she suggested I try writing a blog and submit it to a newspaper. I still remember the excitement and disbelief when I saw my blog published - it felt like a dream come true. That moment not only boosted my confidence but also made me realize the power of words and self-expression. Since then, English has been more than just a subject for me; it's become a way to share my thoughts with the world.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach, and why?

The biggest motivation behind my decision to teach is my 8th-grade English teacher. Her passion for teaching and the way she believed in her students left a lasting impact on me. She didn't just teach lessons from a textbook - she taught us how to think, express, and believe in ourselves.

Her ability to bring out the best in me inspired me to do the same for others. I realized that teaching isn't just about sharing knowledge; it's about inspiring confidence, nurturing potential, and being a source of support for students. Just as she helped me discover my love for writing and communication, I want to do the same for others. The joy of seeing someone grow, overcome self-doubt, and achieve something they once thought was impossible is what drives me to teach.
  • How does your work help society?

My work contributes to society by empowering individuals with the ability to communicate effectively. Language is a bridge that connects people, ideas, and opportunities. By helping others develop strong writing and speaking skills, I'm enabling them to express themselves with confidence - whether it's in academic settings, professional environments, or personal pursuits.

Beyond language skills, I aim to inspire self-belief, just as my 8th-grade English teacher did for me. When students see their words have value - like having a blog published or receiving positive feedback - it boosts their confidence and opens new doors for them. This ripple effect extends beyond the classroom, as effective communicators become stronger leaders, problem-solvers, and contributors to society.

Ultimately, my work is about nurturing potential, promoting self-expression, and fostering a generation of individuals who are not only skilled in language but also more confident in themselves.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My 8th-grade English teacher is undoubtedly my role model. She exemplified everything I aspire to be as an educator - patient, encouraging, and deeply committed to her students' growth. What made her stand out was her belief in each student's potential, even when we doubted ourselves.

Her influence went beyond academics. She inspired me to write my first blog and encouraged me to submit it to a newspaper. Seeing it published was a life-changing moment for me, and it all started because she believed in my abilities. Her approach to teaching was not just about lessons from a textbook; it was about building confidence, fostering creativity, and helping students find their voice.

I want to be that kind of teacher - someone who sees the potential in every student, helps them overcome their fears, and celebrates their successes. Her impact on my life is a constant reminder of the difference a teacher can make, and I strive to create that same impact for others.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy a variety of hobbies that help me unwind and stay connected with the world. Gardening is one of my favorite pastimes - it allows me to relax, connect with nature, and see the growth of something I've nurtured. I also love spending time with animals, as they bring a sense of joy and calmness to my life.

In addition to these, I'm an avid reader. I enjoy exploring different genres and subjects, as books provide both relaxation and learning. I also make it a point to stay updated with the latest news and trends. Whether it's global events or new advancements, I enjoy keeping myself informed about what's happening in the world around me.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One of the most heart-warming experiences I've had during an online class was with a student who was extremely shy and hesitant at the start. For the first few days, the student didn't even switch on the camera or actively participate in the class. I realized that patience and understanding were key, so I made an effort to create a comfortable environment for them.

Through polite conversations, gentle encouragement, and consistent support, I noticed a gradual change. The student started opening up, engaging more in the lessons, and eventually turned on the camera. By the end of the year, the transformation was incredible - my student had grown in confidence and scored good marks, which came as a pleasant surprise to me.

This experience taught me that small, thoughtful gestures like active listening and positive reinforcement can have a lasting impact. It reaffirmed my belief that education is as much about emotional support as it is about academic growth.
