About David
My name is David, and I am a Business Administration student at the University of Southern California. As a first-generation college student, I understand how overwhelming the college application process can be, which is why I am passionate about helping others navigate it with confidence. Beyond academics, I am a runner who has completed three marathons. I also love playing chess and have been working hard to improve my rating. These hobbies have taught me discipline, resilience, and strategic thinking—qualities that I bring into my mentoring and teaching. With experience as a teacher assistant at Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM), I have worked closely with students, guiding them through complex concepts and encouraging their problem-solving skills. I take a patient and personalized approach to teaching, ensuring that each student feels supported and empowered. I believe that with the right guidance and strategy, every student can showcase their strengths and achieve their academic goals. My mission is to make the college application process clearer and more approachable, helping students take the next step in their education with confidence.

I take a personalized and interactive approach to tutoring, focusing on guiding students to think critically and develop their problem-solving skills. I ask thought-provoking questions to help students arrive at answers on their own, fostering confidence and independence.
A typical lesson involves discussing the student’s goals, breaking down key concepts with real-world examples, and working through practice problems together. I adapt my teaching style based on each student’s learning pace and needs, ensuring they fully understand the material before moving forward.
What sets me apart is my experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. As a former teacher assistant at Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM) for two years, I worked closely with 12- to 13-year-olds, helping them grasp challenging mathematical concepts. My lessons are ideal for middle and high school students navigating the college application process, as I provide insights from my own journey as a first-generation USC Business Administration student.
