About Joshua

My name is Joshua Browning, and I bring a unique combination of international teaching experience, military discipline, and business leadership to my role as an English tutor. I began my ESL teaching journey in Vietnam after graduating from the University of Central Florida, where I discovered a passion for helping students build confidence and communicate effectively across cultures. Since then, I’ve led teams, pitched to investors, negotiated contracts, and built businesses—experiences that have sharpened my ability to connect with people, simplify complex ideas, and deliver clear, practical instruction. I’m also a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, which speaks to my professionalism, reliability, and commitment to excellence. Whether you're learning English for school, travel, career growth, or personal enrichment, I bring patience, structure, and a results-driven mindset to every lesson. My goal is to help you achieve fluency, confidence, and success—on your terms.

About the lesson

As a tutor with international ESL teaching experience and a background in business, leadership, and communication, I bring a unique, real-world approach to English instruction. I previously taught in Vietnam, working with students across age groups and levels, which taught me the importance of adaptability, cultural awareness, and creating a supportive environment. My lessons are student-centered and goal-oriented, using a blend of Communicative Language Teaching and Task-Based Learning to help learners build confidence and fluency through real-life scenarios, role-play, thematic discussions, and integrated grammar and vocabulary. I tailor each session to the student’s goals—whether for school, work, travel, or relocation—and focus on progress through clear feedback and achievable milestones. What sets me apart is my ability to connect with learners from all backgrounds, offer practical and professional context, and motivate students through supportive and engaging instruction. My lessons are ideal for teens and adults, but in particularly for working professionals or those seeking to improve conversational and functional English in real-world settings.
