About Rose
I am a tutor with over four years of experience in private tuition. My educational background is in English Literature – I have an English degree from the University of Cambridge, and an MA in Shakespeare Studies from King’s College London.
My specialism is Shakespeare and so I am very passionate about English Literature GCSE and A level tuition
I am an enthusiastic tutor and love helping students gain confidence and have fun with their learning. I discovered my love for teaching whilst teaching drama workshops abroad, in India and Japan. When I’m not teaching you can find me treading the boards at the nearest theatre – as an actor I have traveled all over the UK performing Shakespeare. I have even played Hamlet himself!
My teaching specialisms include:
GCSE English Literature & Language– I have taught intensive revision lessons to under-achieving students who have then gone on to achieve top grades.
A Level English Literature – Many of my A level students have gone on to achieve top grades
University Applications – I specialise in personal statement writing & Oxbridge applications. All my students have gotten into their first choice universities.
7+ Tuition (Maths, English & Reasoning)– All my 7+ students last year got into top London schools, such as King’s Wimbledon, Bute House, Latimer, St Pauls Girls & Emmanuel School. I have also designed and led group revision classes for the 7+ exam.
11+ Tuition (English & Reasoning)– All my 11+ students got into their top choice schools.
Online Tuition – I have taught English Language, 11+ exam skills and English Literature online in a variety of formats – from group lessons to 1:1. I have taught students in the UK, China & South Korea.
Other teaching experience:
GCSE Cover Teacher – I covered a series of GCSE English classes at the Tennis Avenue Academy. I was offered a full time teaching position at this school teaching A Level and
Teaching Assistant - part time TA in primary schools.
Online Adult Tutor for Ringle Plus – teaching adults in South Korea conversational English
Content Creator for Snap Revise – I created a series of bitesize revision videos, covering in detail the entire English Literature A level syllabus. I specialised in designing a course helping students with exam essay structure.
