About Ciara
****IMPORTANT****
Please note: I am currently accepting bookings for lessons AT MY HOME starting December 1st, 2026.
I am available online or traveling to you before and after Dec. 1, 2026.
********************
I am a long-time musician who started out playing the viola at age 8 in the DC Youth Orchestra until the age of 12 before transitioning to private piano lessons for a few years after that.
I spent 15 years teaching myself the bass guitar and have been in several bands including Uncle Mary who won the 2022 Wammie Award for Best Rock Song, titled "Have Your Love."
I am currently in the band, Courtland Johnson and His Amazing Friends, and have performed with them at The Warner Theater as an opener for Memphis Gold.
I have been featured in 3 magazines and took a live online Cinematic Music Composition course with Timothy Williams, orchestrator for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 and 2 and other popular films.

I believe learning should be fun! With me you will:
- Immediately be hands-on with the instrument.
- Learn scale shapes that allow you to quickly play nice sounding music!
- Learn about the importance of rhythm and how to "get into the groove."
- I will play along with you using other instruments such as piano, box drum, or drum kit, so you feel like you're a bassist in a small band.
- Have a blast!
