About Lance

After 34 years I recently retired as a child welfare social worker. I conducted investigations, provided on-going case management, and filed over 2,000 reports with the juvenile court over my career.

I graduated UCLA with a B.A. degree in Political Science and Vanderbilt University with a M.A. in Psychology.

For fun, I write book reviews on Amazon. I have reviewed over 150 topics on a variety of topics.

About the lesson

I urge students to think of their audience. What is the most important thing the reader needs to know? If writing for a class assignment, the teacher needs to need you understand the material. If writing a report for work, the supervisor or manager needs to have the information presented in a way as to make an informed decision. Whatever the audience, the reader needs to see how one idea flows to the next.
