About Maggie
Hi! I'm Maggie.
I studied Law and Commerce at La Trobe University, and now I work as a lawyer — which means I read, write and use words every single day.
I love helping children and Year 7–8 students become confident readers and writers. We tackle spelling, reading, and writing step by step, celebrating progress along the way. My goal is to help your child feel capable, proud, and enjoy the process too.

My approach to tutoring is patient, structured and confidence-focused. I believe strong literacy skills are built through clear explanations, guided practice and consistent encouragement. I break concepts down into simple, manageable steps and adapt each lesson to suit the student’s individual learning style and pace.
I use practical techniques such as reading aloud, comprehension discussions, targeted spelling and vocabulary exercises, and structured writing activities. I also focus on building foundational grammar skills and helping students understand why something is correct, not just memorising rules. Creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions is very important to me.
Lessons typically run for 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s age and concentration level.
My academic and professional training has strengthened my reading comprehension, writing precision and communication skills, which I bring into every session.
My lessons are designed for primary school students who want to improve their reading, spelling, grammar, writing, or overall literacy confidence - whether they need extra support or are looking to extend their skills further.
